It's Very Hard To Find A Great Pauillac For This Good A Price!
Pauillac has long been recognized to be the most classic wines in the Médoc: they have a deep, intense color and a bouquet of great distinction. They are both full-bodied and elegant on the palate and are among the longest-lived wines of Bordeaux. When young, their hard flavor is often described by the English as ‘lead pencil’ and by the French as ‘goût de capsule’. Located between Saint-Julien to the south and Saint-Estèphe to the north, this modest Pauillac château grows 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot on gravely soils.Hand harvesting, sorting and de-stalking are practiced. After a fermentation of 28-30 days in temperature controlled steel vats, the wine is transferred to oak barrels, one third of which are new each year, with bottling 18-20 months later.
A wine of excellent quality, it has deep ruby color with purple tinges as well as a nose of dark red fruits, vanilla, and pain grillé. Well-structured, the opulent fruit is somewhat masked by the firm tannins that will ensure a harmonious and long development.
