Bio:
William Long has spent half of his life producing, nurturing and marketing the wines of Spain.

During 1990 through 1994 he was based in the United Kingdom as the Brand Manager for Spain’s leading Rioja Brand, ‘Campo Viejo’. He was then invited to relocate to Spain in 1994 as Managing Director, and interim Export Director, for the International division for what has become a leading player in Spain, Bodegas Berberana, now known as United Wineries.

Nine years later, after having grown his division by 28 times in size, he decided to apply his skills as an independent player and founded Long Wines S.A. to provide his international experience to multiple smaller wine producing companies. His role within each winery includes :

Auditing all wines in the winery
Developing wine styles for international markets
Marketing and sales strategies
Wine and packaging design
Export Director attracting International Importers

In short, all the functions usually carried out within an export department inside a winery.The exception is that Long Wines collaborates with over 30 wineries. The advantage for each winery, and ultimately the importer, is that the winery listens and sees far beyond the valley in which the winery is located, which is not always the case.
